Ruapotaka's Athletics Day

Tuesday morning was hot and sunny. Athletics day was just a corner away, and everyone had tried their very best to become a super rapid athlete. As the day went on everyone was warmed up and ready to commence. 'GO!' Mrs Peterson shouts for all the runners to begin the race. Throughout the races, everyone had gained energy, and some had lost energy. When it was time for the year 8's to run, I switched on to focus mode. As soon as Mrs Peterson said, "Go!" I accelerated my speed at the beginning therefore I ended up receiving 1st place for 100 metre sprint. I'm super proud of myself!!

Labour Weekend 🔴

On Monday, my family and I had a wonderful lunch at Botanic Garden. Later on the day my brothers had arrived from their training and joined us. After our lunch we took a hike around the beautiful areas in the Botanic Garden. "Mum, can we get a nice cold ice cream after this?" I said with dullness. As we reached our final location I was so excited because it was nearly ice cream time. After the day ended my phone ended up having over 200 photos.

Basketball!!

Every interval and lunch, the boys from room 12 will always scurry to the basketball court and set up teams for a basketball game. After we have set up our teams, we start of by checking to ball. Later on as time goes by, Dakbai and I had a quick game against each other. "Dakbai defends, Pate ankle breaks Dakbai", said Azahar and Jack. Later on, the bell had rung and Dakbai went for the last shot. As it was flying through the air, suddenly the shot was an air ball.

Back From The Holiday!

"Welcome back" said Mrs Vickers. We are back from the holidays and are ready to learn again I was really hyped to see my friends. Firstly, after the bell had rung, the seniors raced to the front of room 11. Later on, Mrs Misela had prepared us a dancing routine as our fitness. After that, my forehead was wet as a sponge full of water. As soon as we finished our last dance song, Mr Reid had instructed us to escort ourselves to our own classes. After a couple of hours, we were just finishing our maths. Straight after Interval, we splat up into our reading groups. As our reading period went by, we had to close our chrome books and get our lunch. A few minutes later, I arrived at room 7 and ready to monitor them. After lunch, Dakbai and I had a quick game of basketball and I was ankle breaking him every time I got the ball. When it was after school I walked down to the bus stop and traveled to Otahuhu.

Colour Combination ↹

The past week, Room 12 has been focusing on a science experiment including 2 colours on a circle shaped cardboard. Everyone had a 1 metre string and poked 2 holes through the circle. My experiment was a total disaster, because I kept forgetting to place the string in the center of the circle. Finally I have placed my string in the centre point of my circle and while it was spinning, I was trying to observe what was shown on the circle. Later on, while the spinning wheel was spinning, all of a sudden, it broke.

Duffy Assembly 📚🤼

On Tuesday, Ruapotaka school gathered up in the resource room and patiently waited for Michel Mulipola. Michel Mulipola is a comic book illustrator, advertisement illustrator, pro wrestler and he also makes up his own cool designs. Later on, our guest arrived. After listening to him talk about himself I actually stopped and thought to myself "Has he succeeded in life?", I asked myself. A few minutes later, Michel Mulipola turned around and faced the wall and privately placed his wrestling mask on. Right after he started talking, it was time for Room 12 to leave and go to orienteering. Ugggghhhhh!!! We all shouted. Everyone wanted to stay and watch the ending of Michel Mulipola's timeline.

Duffy Assembly😊

On Monday 14th August, the whole school strolled down to the school hall for assembly. As we sat down, two students from Tamaki College marched down the hall while Ruapotaka School stared at them. Later on, the two students stood up confidently and spoke about why they like reading. After their wonderful speech, students were allowed to ask suitable questions about reading. Straight after the Duffy Assembly, the senior block remained and had our Syndicate Assembly. What would you say if you were chosen to speak in front of a school about what you're good at?

Fourthly, we skip 20 times forward zigzag and 20 times backwards zigzag. Later on we split up into our groups. Me and my group are jumping over 1 rope jump and we're trying to do push ups over the skipping rope.

National Milk Day

Today 1st June 2017 is a special day, which is called 'National Milk Day' that is celebrated by young children around New Zealand. School books, writing pads, wall cladding, and roof tiles are just some of the things that can be made from recycled Fonterra Milk for Schools packs. Students and schools are happy to know that every single milk pack is recycled into new and useful products to be used by someone else around the world.
